In January 2018, planning permission was granted for the redevelopment of a retail parade in the Sewardstone Road Neighbourhood Centre in Chingford. This involved air rights development for 19 private residential units and rear extensions to deliver additional and enhanced retail floorspace in a Neighbourhood Centre. The improvement to the retail offer has secured an anchor Co-op superstore and Costa Coffee.
Planning permission was granted in January 2018 for the redevelopment of this employment site in New Alresford near Winchester to provide 45 residential dwellings set across five blocks. The redevelopment consisted of 10 houses and 35 flats. The application was able to rely upon vacant building credits so there was only a requirement to provide nine onsite affordable housing units (20%). In order to achieve planning permission, City Planning successfully made representations to Winchester City Local Plan to allocate the site for housing. Working closely with David Gallagher Architects, City Planning contributed to the preparation of a comprehensive masterplan for the site and wider employment area. Winchester City Council planning committee unanimously voted to grant planning permission in May 2017.
