City Planning was instructed by the client to prepare and co-ordinate a strategy for the de-conversion of two flats in order to create a family sized home in Kensington.
City planning worked closely with Francis Philips Architects to design a suitable scheme for the de- conversion. The proposals included the reconfiguration of the two units in order to create one family home. This included the addition of a large basement development. Externally, amenity space by way of a small roof terrace was proposed in addition to the existing rear garden.
The scheme was allowed at appeal (informal hearing) in January 2017. This has created a much needed family home in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea valued at C.£15 million.
