City Planning was instructed by SAV Development Limited to provide planning advice in relation to the redevelopment of a retail parade in north-east London.

City Planning appraised two options for the site, providing advice on which scheme would stand the best chance of obtaining planning permission. The preferred option was then further developed with the client and project team to maximise the site’s potential.

City Planning then held pre-application discussions with LB Waltham Forest in order to obtain their views. The design of the site evolved through these discussions, with changes to the car-parking layout and the detailed design of the scheme.

A full planning application was then submitted for the comprehensive redevelopment of the parade including air rights development to provide 19 private residential units and rear extensions to deliver additional and enhanced retail floor space in a Neighbourhood Centre. The improvements to the retail offer has secured an anchor Co-op superstore and Costa Coffee.

The development was approved under delegated powers in January 2018.
