In a perfect world developments are implemented entirely in accordance with the consented drawings. However, for various reasons associated with construction works and building regulations planning permissions are not always built correctly.
In this case, the roof of the house had been built larger than consented and a number of minor alterations to the building had taken place.
Despite seeking to rectify the breach by way of a planning application, the LPA served an enforcement notice, which was subsequently appealed. A detailed case was put forward to demonstrate that the works were acceptable and preserved the character and appearance of the conservation area.
The Inspector agreed with our case and quashed the enforcement notice, thereby granting planning permission for the works.
