City Planning were brought on board to appeal LB Richmond’s refusal to grant permission for the redevelopment of the site at the rear of Barnes High Street.

Despite the constrained nature of this backland site, City Planning together with illustrative material provided by AU Architects was able to demonstrate that the development did not harm the amenity of adjoining occupiers and that the design of the house was appropriate for the conservation area.

The Inspector agreed entirely with the case City Planning presented and commended the design of the scheme noting that it would make a positive contribution to the conservation area and make efficient use of the land.
