St Paul's Church, Battersea
St Paul’s Church is a prominent locally listed building, which is widely visible as it sits atop of St John’s Hill in South West London. The James Laurence Group assembled a core team of consultants to work on this ambitious project. The team worked alongside officers at the London Borough of Wandsworth in order to agree how to best convert and restore this large and complicated building.
Original features of the building have been retained, including the prominent stain glass windows, whilst creating new features such as inverted winter gardens on the principle elevation and a new accessible entrance. The spire has been incorporated into the one of the apartments facilitating 360º views of London
A new house will be built replacing the dilapidated hall at the rear of the site. This house will have an internal lightwell running through the building in order to create light and good outlook. The house will have a large basement with cinema room and gymnasium.
The development has be widely supported by the local community and has been nominated for design awards.
