In September 2016, LB Hackney’s Planning Committee unanimously voted to approve this 6 storey building, which will provide 17 new dwellings.

Planning permission had been granted for a 5 storey mixed use development consisting of a commercial unit on the ground floor and 9 flats on the upper floors. City Planning were instructed to obtain consent for an additional storey and to create a purely residential scheme comprising of 17 units.

We worked closely with DGA Architects to achieve an appropriate internal layout and external design for the new storey. The ground floor was remodelled to provide family sized units with access to outdoor amenity space, carefully screened by landscaping. The new storey is set back from the main building to reduce its visual impact from street level.

The development meets London Plan standards for CO2 reduction, incorporating PV panels and aims to promote sustainable modes of transport by being car- free and incorporating cycle storage for each unit.
