Struan House, Southfields

Full planning permission was granted for a three storey block of nine residential units on land associated with Struan House.

City Planning put together a planning strategy to demonstrate that not only that the land did not constitute garden land but that the development made a positive contribution to biodiversity and ecology.  This was achieved through design (green/brown roofs), tree planting and the creation of a wildlife meadow.  In addition to these benefits, the scheme proposed a high quality car-free development that was adopted sustainable and energy efficient principle.
